"Gun Radio" Gun Shows Expecting Good Crowds

February 5th, 2013 08:00:00 pm

The Gun Radio Gun Shows  are starting another great season in Mesa. Organizer Bill Pettus of  AZ Gun Radio  tells that the show has been around for about a year and that they have just moved to a new location at The Auction Empire. The site can be found at 140 North Country Club Drive in Mesa, Arizona.

Gun shows have long been popular in the US, and especially in Arizona. They have been significantly busier since the recent school shooting in Connecticut. There is a general belief that gun laws may change drastically in the future so people are stocking up in anticipation of the changes. Add to that a general nervousness in society about personal safety as a whole, and many folks deem it prudent to be picking up extra firearms, accessories and ammunition.

Pettus tells us that the gun shows are not just about guns though. The Shows have Exhibitors from throughout the U.S. Show vendors will have on display or be selling -  Knife sharpening tools, Antique Firearms, Knives, Hunting Rifles, Gun Parts, Indian Artifacts and Jewelry, Antique Indian Art, “Mountain Men” Collectables and Contemporary Crafts, Old West Memorabilia, Cleaning Supplies, Militaria, huge selections of ammunition,  varied other collectables, and much, much more!

I asked Bill if there might be anything at the shows that would interest “non-gun” folks and he was emphatic that there are other things to do – “ I would suggest gun training and safety before you buy; there is also lots of food, a Monster Truck display where families can take pictures in front of (provided by American Thunder Motor Sports). At the February Show the Boy Scouts will be there selling tickets to their upcoming National Jamboree, and Funny 97.3FM  will have 2 professional boxers there signing autographs.

The show organizers are proud that these shows are nice, family-oriented events. If you have never been to a gun show, load up your friends or family and come check it out. We think it will make for an enjoyable outing. If “this ain’t your first rodeo” and you’ve been to lots of gun shows – then we think you’ll like this one too! Organizers have worked hard to find a good venue and put on a quality event.

Shows will be held February 16 and 17, April 6 and 7, May 18 and 19, August 17 and 18.
