Let Your Archery Skills Soar To New Heights With Launch of State Agencies Intro to Archery Program
With the recent release of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1,” Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has created an informational web page, www.azgfd.gov/archery, on all things archery for those inspired to try archery.
“We have seen an incredible influx of youngsters looking into classes and researching archery, said Tanja Washburn, archery education coordinator for Game and Fish. “We felt it was important to have a place where people can go to get the most requested information on how to get started in archery.”
Like the Districts in the movie, a new topic will be added to the Game and Fish’s website and discussed on social media from Dec. 1-13. Useful, user-friendly topics will include the types of archery, lists of archery organizations, where to shoot, resources for buy equipment, as well as basic tips and techniques to improve shooting prowess and ensure the “odds are ever in your favor.”
Updates to www.azgfd.gov/Archery will be announced on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/azgafd, and Twitter: @azgfd.

About Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Statewide Archery Program:
Archery is the art, practice or skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow. While archery is facing a resurgence in popular culture and youth sports, it is filled with a rich history and tradition enjoyed safely by all ages and sizes regardless of physical ability.
AZGFD’s new Statewide Archery Program will provide information designed to help you find your archery pathway whether you are a Yeoman or a Toxophilite. Despite the Hollywood excitement and portrayals, this information is here to teach you the safe and appropriate use of bows and arrows, including their nexus to hunting and wildlife conservation.
AZGFD is the best resource for archery, including public outreach, safety and education. Archery is a recreational activity for all! Remember, the magic of archery can only be felt through actions, not explained through words.
